Computer technology advances quickly, but not so rapidly that it is impossible to keep up. Any good and reliable laptop should last you at least three to five years. Quite a bit can change in that span of time, however, and if you haven’t kept up with computer trends, you may not know what to expect.
Here are some of the latest laptops to arrive on the scene this year recommended by CyberCall Laptop Repairs Bristol. These laptops are tailored for different needs and budgets, but all are loaded with modern hardware and provide efficient performance.
2017 Dell Inspiron 11.6″ HD 2-in-1 Convertible
2-in-1 convertible laptops represent the best of both worlds – light enough to be used as a tablet, powerful enough to function as a laptop.
Early Windows convertible tablets were underpowered. The 2017 Dell Inspiron is an excellent example of how the technology is progressing.
Like most tablets, the processor on this model is somewhat underpowered – only 1.6 GHz. Dell makes up for it in other ways, however. 4 GB of RAM offers significantly better speeds, and makes the computer better-suited for carrying out multiple operations before running out of memory.
Best of all is the hard drive. Cheaper convertible laptops have micro SSDs, sometimes only capable of storing 32 GB, of which half is used up already by Windows. A 500 GB HDD makes this convertible laptop far more accessible.
HP Pavilion 14” BrightView Display
If you need something with a little more meat on its bones, this laptop from HP offers substantial hardware at a reasonable price. The resolution is 1366 x 768, so it does not support 1080p. However, there are plenty of good things about this laptop.
The Pavilion sports a 6th Gen Intel i5-6200 that offers bursts of speed up to 2.8 GHz. The dual-core processor is backed by 12 GB of the latest-gen DDR4 RAM, plenty of memory for running most operations quickly. It also has a 1 TB SATA HDD.
This laptop isn’t powerful enough for gaming enthusiasts, but is reasonably priced and capable of handling the daily needs of most users.
ASUS ROG Strix GL753VD
Video editors and gaming enthusiasts will appreciate this laptop. The GTX 1050M GPU makes it capable of handling almost any video game, and improves the performance of video editing software. 16 GB of RAM also lend their support in this regard.
As far as storage, the laptop comes with two different presets. One option features a 7200 RPM 1 TB HDD. The second includes a second 256 GB SSD, dramatically improving the speed of the computer. It also comes with the latest Intel i7 quad-core processor. Other features include a backlit keyboard and 1080p support.
This is probably the best new gaming laptop this year for the price.
